About
My Final Project is for the patient in the Geriatric ward. Helps them remember, connect, discover and not feel alone and sad in the hospital ward.
During a residency in the geriatric rehabilitation ward, I identified a need among patients for both physical activity and meaningful social interaction. Many expressed a desire to connect with others while also needing gentle ways to move and recover.
In response, I designed an interactive wall-mounted Scrabble game. The installation allows patients to sit comfortably while still engaging in light physical movement—reaching, stretching, and placing tiles on the wall helps support upper-body mobility and fine motor skills. The game board, integrated into the wall with magnetized Hebrew letter tiles, turns a simple play session into a rehabilitative and social experience.
This space not only encourages physical activity in a subtle, enjoyable way, but it also serves as a social hub. Patients are invited to play together, fostering communication, cooperation, and the development of new friendships during what can often be an isolating period.
